Wildlife Veterinary Experience (Groups of 5+)
Kwantu Private Game Reserve
Description

The program is designed for those that are interested in getting a glimpse of what veterinary science is all about, while also getting involved in wildlife and conservation experiences. This can be deemed a pre-vet program and does not require any prior knowledge or experience on the subject.

Generally, vet-specific work occurs 2-3 days per week, with the balance being spent on wildlife and conservation experiences. This is due to the fact that wildlife treatment may be unpredictable and is done on an as-needed basis.

Programme at a glance

  • Minimum age: 18
  • No prior veterinary knowledge or experience needed
  • Available for groups of 5 or more participants only (we are unable to take solo travellers on this programme)
  • Duration: tailor-made, quoted per week
  • Hands-on exposure to wildlife veterinary work, animal and reserve management, and preventative care
  • The balance of your week is spent on the wildlife and conservation volunteer activities

Please note that we work in a live environment: time with our vet depends on the work required at the time.
